About us

SNL Consultants Ltd have extensive insurance claims experience including asbestos, pollution and health hazard (APH) claims, in both UK and US claims management environments, with a proven track-record in negotiating and resolving complex claims for both direct and reinsurance business (both assumed and ceded). We are specialists in a wide variety of claim disciplines including Claims Management, Claims Negotiation and Settlement Resolution, IBNER/IBNR Assessment, Portfolio Evaluation and development of in-house claims management software tools.


Ian Stephens

Ian is a founding Director of SNL Consultants, he has extensive Insurance Claims experience in both UK and US claims management environments. He is a specialist in a wide variety of claim disciplines including APH (asbestos, pollution and health hazard) long term exposure claims, Claims Management, Claims Negotiation and Settlement Resolution, IBNER/IBNR Assessment, Portfolio Evaluation and development of in-house claims management software tools. Ian has worked on all three successful Ruxley Ventures managed Solvent Schemes of Arrangement; the original City General, Aviation and General and Swiss Union(City General).
Previously Ian has worked at Alexander Howden Insurance Brokers; Dominion Insurance Company Limited; KWELM Management Services; LMCS (London Market Claims Services) and Axiom/Charles Taylor.

Darren Lombard

Darren is a founding Director of SNL Consultants and has been in the London Insurance Market for over 25 years. His skill set was developed from both a broking background and as a claims practitioner. He has a proven track-record in negotiating and resolving complex claims for both direct and reinsurance business (both assumed and ceded) in both UK and US claims management environments. He is a specialist in a wide variety of claim disciplines including APH (asbestos, pollution and health hazard) long term exposure claims, Claims Management, Claims Negotiation and Settlement Resolution, IBNER/IBNR Assessment, Portfolio Evaluation and development of in-house claims management software tools.
